Miss J. North is really not that at all.
"The time has come," the Walrus said, "to talk of many things: of shoes and ships and sealing-wax—of cabbages and kings—and why the sea is boiling hot and whether pigs have wings."
Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off—then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. |
I play music when an instrument presents itself, draw when the mood strikes, and write as though breathing. I love all forms of creative output and aesthetics, whether affected or otherwise. I love the sky, clouds included--clouds essential!--in day or night. It fills me and reminds me of the glories of God.
For myself, I'm an academic often torn between studying and physical activity. As I've grown, I've realized I love to work outside and can't always being confined to a classroom or bedroom studying. Sometimes the two conflict, but sometimes they work wonderfully well together when the weather permits (with a game of basketball or bike ride interspersed).
I'm several years into college, but have at least four more to go before I graduate with a Masters in Speech and Language Pathology. It's the career combination of science and words that I love, with the added benefit of helping others.
I occasionally post stream-of-consciousness writings to ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) vacantbasement, a personal writing journal, and infrequently post art ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) artforbacon, the sketch journal I share with my good pal timestreason. (Most art and significant writing is just posted here.) Both of these require our prior acquaintance to view.
A further understanding of my person can be summarized by saying that I am a Christian, of reformed theology, and that I am very much dedicated to my faith. I am in parts related to the website The Sacred Sandwich, mostly because I'm related to its creator. It gives a pretty good idea of my beliefs and inherited personality. |
For close acquaintances, my contact info is now residing here, along with various necessities of wish lists and the like---so listed on the odd chance you feel moved to enrich me materially, beyond your pleasant company. (I do not encourage this, but for ease of accessibility in some gifting situations and for discretion on the part of the gift-giver, it can be nice. Please do not hesitate to send me letters, however; I fully condone the expense of stamp and paper.) |
